July 2021 was pencilled in for Forty Elephant Gang to release their second Ep. This release was to follow their very well received debut album Next time round. However the pandemic hit and like everyone else the boys plans were thrown out the window. With a half recorded EP marinating in the can they decided to revisit some past recordings with a view to adapt and finish previously forgotten songs. This is when they realised their first EP Slow Down the days was 5 years old. Listening back to the tracks they decided to remaster them alongside producer Steve Watson who worked in Next Time Round. The result is Slow down the Days (Re-Herd).
The original 4 track ep has been remastered showing the songs in even more glory. Live favourites such as Joan of Arc and Hands out your pockets shine even brighter and show how from the very early days Forty Elephant Gang knew how to write songs with a classic Americana feel but also show their now renowned British songwriting stamp. Along with the original songs they have included a new recording of Fool. A song written and regularly performed in the Slow down the Days era but recorded after the original Ep. This addition makes Slow Down the Days (Re-Herd) a must for any Forty Elephant Gang fan.
